This poster presents a selection of photographs from Alen MacWeeney's series New York Subways 1977. In the late 1970s, MacWeeney photographed his New York subway journeys, until a chance discovery in the darkroom gave birth to his celebrated diptychs: two overlapping images that "came to life". I translated this language to the scale of the poster, building a visual rhythm between the images, with forms, gazes and textures echoing one another, so that the whole works as one
